Effective January 1, 2008 there have been major changes in North Carolina insurance agent licensing requirements. The Life and Health licenses now require 20 hours of training each, and separate exams will be given for each license. Agents licensed before January 1, 2008 will be sent new separate licenses after January 1, 2008.
Successful insurance managers continually search for competent, trustworthy, and financially responsible agents. The best candidate in the world cannot start without passing a challenging exam on a wide range of insurance topics.
In most cases, the candidate must pass a 20 hour pre-license class for Life Insurance and a 20 hour pre-license class for Accident & Sickness Insurance. For the Senior Market an additional 10 hour certification class for the Medicare/Long Term Care exam is required.
These classes are now available in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Life/Health course is held twice a month, and the Medicare/LTC course is held once a month.
